Board Member Spotlight

Greg Wellman
Vice Chairman
Support Services Board

1. Tell me how you first became involved with Cedar Lake.
Gwenevere Josey, former Director of Human Resources, approached me in the Spring of 2018 about joining the board as she knew I had rotated off of the Kentucky Humane Society Board as Chairman. She also knew I had a special needs son, Joshua, and she thought Cedar Lake could be a good fit. I met with the CEO and did a tour of the facilities while learning about the mission and I was hooked.
2. What are you most looking forward to during your time on the board?
I am looking forward to providing guidance and leadership to help advance the mission of Cedar Lake. I believe navigating Cedar Lake to be able to do more in the community is a key to its future success.
3. Tell me a little about yourself – background, family, etc.
I’ve been married for 24 years to Tiffany Wellman and I have 2 wonderful children, Joshua and Jalen. They both just graduated high school and my daughter will be attending UT Knoxville in the fall to study audiology. Our special needs son, Joshua, will remain with us. I’m very involved in my local church, The Kingdom Center Church, where I serve as an Elder and have various ministry responsibilities including serving on the board of directors. Professionally, I am the managing partner for the Dallas office of CMTA. CMTA is a national consulting engineering firm headquartered in Prospect, KY.
4. I’m sure you’ve heard about our two annual events, a golf tournament and our Hearts of Gold gala. Which one are you most excited about?
As an avid golfer I love the golf tournament. It’s extremely fun and a great way to connect with others and share the Cedar Lake vision.
