Louisville, KY (November 3,2017) – Cedar Lake, the region’s largest non-profit care provider for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will host its 29th Annual Gala, presented by Commonwealth Bank & Trust, at the Marriott Louisville East on Saturday, November 4th from 6:00pm-10:00pm. The black-tie affair is themed “Turn on Your Heartlight” and will include a dual-entree dinner, as well as silent and live auctions. Entertainment will be provided by CirqueLouis. The evening will be auctioneered by Sherry Truhlar, America’s foremost female benefit auctioneer who will start off the evening by leading the attendees in a “Heads or Tails” game, where the last person standing will win $300 in gift cards to local eateries.
The Gala’s silent auction comprises 150 items and the live auction will include such premium items as a trip for 4 to Italy, America’s rare whiskey – VanWinkle Special Reserve. All proceeds from the Gala will support the organization’s Indigent Care Endowment, which ensures that all those supported by Cedar Lake have a life of abundant possibilities despite their lack of sufficient income and who have no family to support those needs.
Cedar Lake operates in Jefferson, Oldham and Henry counties, has 35 properties, and supports 200 people with a staff of 460. Supports range from 24/7 support for the most medically fragile, to intermittent support for those who live independently.
