THANK YOU! We have now receive all the dresses we need and no longer need dress donations.
Everyone deserves the chance to experience the excitement of prom. A chance to dress up, dance with friends, and create memories that last a lifetime.
This August, Cedar Lake’s Park Place in New Castle and Sycamore Run in LaGrange will host their very first Cedar Lake Prom for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. To make the evening unforgettable, Cedar Lake is asking the community to donate gently used formal dresses and bridesmaid dresses in a variety of sizes.
The prom is part of a week-long celebration created especially for individuals who are unable to participate in an annual overnight vacation because of complex medical needs. Rather than missing out on a special getaway, individuals will enjoy cruise-themed activities throughout the week, including a prom night where everyone has the opportunity to feel celebrated, confident, and included.
“This event is about creating a joyful experience where everyone feels beautiful, valued, and celebrated. With the community’s help, we can make it a night they’ll never forget,” said Scott Stewart, Cedar Lake administrator.
To ensure every attendee has a dress that fits and makes them feel their best, Cedar Lake is seeking the following donations for formal dresses:
- Small – 2 dresses
- Medium – 2 dresses
- Large – 3 dresses
- XL – 5 dresses
- 2X – 1 dress
- 5X – 1 dress
Cedar Lake requests that all donated dresses be freshly laundered or professionally cleaned and in good condition.
