Cedar Lake Path Ribbon Cutting Sept. 16

Cedar Lake Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 10 a.m. at Cedar Lake Lodge, 3301 Jericho Road, La Grange.

When Cedar Lake was founded in 1970, it was named after the body of water on its property. Now, more than 50 years later, individuals supported at Cedar Lake Lodge will have a new way to enjoy the beauty of the water, thanks to East & Westbrook Construction and Advance Ready Mix Concrete.

In August, the two community partners came together to design and build a fully accessible path from Cedar Lake Lodge to the pond below. The new pathway ensures that individuals—whether using a wheelchair, walker, or walking—can easily access the water.

“We wanted to support this amazing organization in our community,” said Rebecca Wood, chief growth officer at East & Westbrook Construction. The project represents $34,000 in combined donations.

“This new path will allow adults with disabilities the ability to enjoy visiting the water, fishing, and a new place to spend time with friends and family,” said Julie Torzewski, executive director of the Cedar Lake Foundation.
