In the bustling world of Cedar Lake, where every employee plays a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Elaine Nichols stands out as a guiding light. For the last five years, Elaine has become an integral part of Cedar Lake’s community, embodying the values of empathy, dedication, and unwavering support.
Over the years, Elaine's role evolved, leading her to become the HR Manager in December 2021, eventually assuming the position of Interim Director of HR before officially taking the helm in 2023. With a rich background encompassing various facets of human resources, including onboarding, payroll, scheduling, employee relations, and training and development, Elaine found her true passion in training and development and employee relations. She thrives on being a touchpoint for employees, connecting with them to provide support and foster a positive work experience.

The Cedar Lake Enrichment Center provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities opportunities to engage in enriching activities that foster personal growth and community integration. Republic Bank’s involvement not only brought joy to the participants but also underscored the importance of corporate commitment to community initiatives.
Stephen Minnotti, a volunteer from Republic Bank, shared his thoughts on the experience. “Volunteering at Cedar Lake Enrichment Center was an incredibly rewarding experience for our team. Seeing the joy on the participants’ faces as they created their stepping stones was a reminder of the profound impact that even small acts of kindness can have. At Republic Bank, we believe in giving back to the communities that support us, and this was a perfect opportunity to do just that.”

These facilities provide 24-hour nursing care, along with occupational, speech, and physical therapy, plus psychological and behavioral services.
• Cedar Lake Lodge: Opened in November 1974, it houses 63 individuals with severe intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Lodge specializes in intense active treatment programs for those with challenging medical and behavioral needs, offering private rooms.
• Park Place: Opened in October 2010, it accommodates 16 individuals. Park Place focuses on community involvement and relationship-building within the larger community, providing private rooms.
• Sycamore Run: Consists of two 4-bed homes in LaGrange, KY. These homes offer nursing care, therapeutic services, and behavior and psychological support, enabling adults with high-intensity support needs to live in a neighborhood community.

🚗🌟 Hope and her Family Home Provider, Jeane, had an unforgettable vacation adventure! They traveled through Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texarkana to reach Texas.
Hope shared a fun fact: she was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and her parents named her after Hope, Arkansas—a small city with a big heart!
Their journey included visiting the Fort Worth Stockyards to see the steer and horses, exploring a three-level mall with an ice-skating rink in Dallas, and having a fantastic Fourth of July celebration. And, of course, no trip is complete without a stop at Buc-ee’s! Hope bought a cozy blanket and a Buc-ee’s shirt. At Cracker Barrel, she picked up a boot snow globe with horses inside. What a great time exploring the U.S. together!
