Ann Wells Spotlight

Ann Wells became our champion when Commonwealth Bank and Trust become a trusted business partner with Cedar Lake. One of the first events Ann attended was a luncheon honoring Cedar Lake Staff.  She was moved by the compassion and commitment of the staff there. Later, she met a woman whose daughter had just been accepted into Cedar Lake Lodge. She told Ann, “the day I found out my daughter was going to Cedar Lake, was the first time I slept through the night because I knew my daughter was going to be cared for even after I am gone.” This conversation cemented Ann’s commitment to our mission.

This year at our “Hearts of Gold” Gala, Ann was awarded the Beth Copley Compassionate Heart Award. This award honors longstanding Cedar Lake donors and volunteers whose commitment and exceptional dedication through advocacy, volunteerism, fundraising and friend raising has enriched the lives of those we support. Their actions have moved mountains for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is the most prestigious commendation granted to donors by the Cedar Lake Foundation. Ann has set such an example of leadership within our community and for that we are grateful.
