Services Offered by Kentucky Medicaid Waiver Programs

Kentucky’s Medicaid waiver programs offer a comprehensive array of services designed to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living meaningful and independent lives in their communities.

Here’s an overview of the services available under two key waiver programs. Please note, Cedar Lake does not provide all these services under the SCL and MPW waiver. This list is meant to showcase all the waivers can provide including support through other providers.

SUPPORTS FOR COMMUNITY LIVING WAIVER

Supports for Community Living (SCL) Waiver: The SCL waiver provides a range of services tailored to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The SCL waiver includes the Cedar Lake Enrichment Center, staffed residencies, supported employment, and the Family Home Provider program.

MICHELLE P WAIVER

Michelle P (MPW) Waiver: The MPW waiver offers services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on enhancing their independence and quality of life. The MPW includes individuals living with a familial caregiver, in a Cedar Lake apartment, or attending Cedar Lake Enrichment Center.

Some services available under the MPW waiver include:

  • Case Management
  • Personal Care
  • Respite
  • Homemaker
  • Adult Day Healthcare
  • Supported Employment
  • Behavior Supports
  • Adult Day Training
  • Occupational Therapy (over 21 only)
  • Physical Therapy (over 21 only)
  • Speech Therapy (over 21 only)
  • Minor Home Adaptations
  • Community Living Supports
  • Attendant Care

Per the Kentucky Division of Long-Term Services and Supports, currently, there is a waitlist for MPW and SCL services and support. Placement on the waiting list is determined by the date your completed application is received.

These services are designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and support their goals for independence, community integration, and overall well-being.
