In January 2021, Cedar Lake launched a robust grants program focusing its efforts on strengthening relationships with existing local foundations and identifying potential new leads for grant opportunities. Despite the changing landscape for the grants world, Cedar Lake successfully raised $130,875 in corporate and foundation grants. We are grateful for our philanthropic partners and their contributions to help strengthen and advance our mission. With the funds raised, we improved the lives of those who call Cedar Lake home.
Funding from this year’s grants, we were able to accomplish the following: enhancing our supported employment program, installing a new roof on a community home, purchasing iPads for staff to document visits with our community living individuals, purchasing a smart board for our day program, buying a new van for the transportation of our community folks, purchasing necessary PPE and installed several new appliances. We also completed our sensory garden at Cedar Lake Enrichment Center (CLEC), our day program, giving our individuals a tranquil retreat that provides holistic healing and well-being. Also, ample funding was used to support the general operating expenses necessary for any business.
