Cedar Lake is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its pastoral call process and warmly welcome Pastor Peter J. Brock as Cedar Lake’s new pastor. Pastor Brock will join Cedar Lake in early September.
An ordained pastor of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS), Pastor Brock is a lifelong Lutheran and brings a deep commitment to faith, service and ministry. Cedar Lake is a Recognized Service Organization of the LCMS and has a long history of being served by LCMS pastors dating back to the organization’s founding.
“We are excited to welcome Pastor Brock to the Cedar Lake family,” said Cedar Lake President and CEO Rick Davis. “His experience, commitment to ministry and passion for serving others will be a wonderful addition to our community.”
A Strong Background in Theology and Ministry
Pastor Brock graduated from Valparaiso University in 2006. He earned degrees in Classics, Theology, Biblical Hebrew and Humanities.
He continued his theological education at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, spending his second year of studies at Westfield House in Cambridge, England. His vicarage was served at West Portal Lutheran Church in San Francisco, California.
In 2010, Pastor Brock joined St. John Lutheran Church in Bingen, Indiana, as associate pastor. He became senior pastor in 2011 and has continued serving the congregation and its members in that role.
In addition to his congregational ministry, Pastor Brock has been actively involved in LCMS Synod and District administration. He currently serves his third term as first vice president, reflecting his longstanding commitment to leadership and service within the Synod.
A Commitment to Serving Others
Pastor Brock’s ministry extends beyond the church and into communities around the world. He is actively involved in missionary work in Tanzania, Africa, where he serves vulnerable children, including many living with albinism.
His commitment to caring for people who are vulnerable and advocating for their dignity and well-being aligns closely with Cedar Lake’s mission of providing highly compassionate, capable care and creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to experience lives of abundant possibilities.
Cedar Lake looks forward to welcoming Pastor Brock to the organization and introducing him to the individuals, families, staff, volunteers and supporters who make up the Cedar Lake community.
