A life of abundant possibilities! Since coming to Cedar Lake almost 16 years ago, Warren’s life has turned around 180 degrees. He went from a life of constant physical and emotional risk to a home where he is safe, he is loved and he is happy. It is a tragic and shocking reality that people with intellectual disabilities are at higher risk of abuse.

Warren isn’t a statistic, and he’s no longer in a situation where he is at high risk of abuse. He is not taken advantage of, and he is safe. Since finding a home at Cedar Lake, Warren is learning every day how to live a life of abundant possibilities and unconditional love. He embraces every social experience – especially when it involves food! Warren is social and outgoing and he loves to help people. His smile lights up a room and he brings joy to everyone he meets.

Warren also has great strength, on which he relied a great deal when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Through every chemo session and every doctor’s appointment, Warren maintained his positivity and his sweet spirit. This strength and positivity have served him well during this time, and he is now cancer-free!

At Cedar Lake, we see a person’s potential beyond the confines of intellectual disability. Every day we see in Warren a desire to be loved and included and a determination to live his very best life. With your help, Cedar Lake will shine the light of love and hope for Warren and so many more who need to find their way to home.
